METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PROVIDING MULTICASTING AND BROADCASTING IN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18469198 titled 'METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PROVIDING MULTICASTING AND BROADCASTING IN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

Simplified Explanation

The abstract of this patent application describes a method performed in a communication system via a terminal. The method involves receiving semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configuration information from a base station, identifying a set of SPS physical downlink shared channels (PDSCHs) based on the SPS configuration information and an SPS activation signal, receiving data from the base station by selecting an SPS PDSCH with the lowest index when multiple SPS PDSCHs are included in the set within one slot, and excluding the selected SPS PDSCH and any PDSCH overlapped with it from the SPS PDSCH set.

  • The method involves receiving SPS configuration information and an SPS activation signal from a base station.
  • Based on the received information, a set of SPS PDSCHs is identified.
  • When multiple SPS PDSCHs are included in the set within one slot, data is received by selecting the SPS PDSCH with the lowest index.
  • The selected SPS PDSCH and any overlapped PDSCH are excluded from the SPS PDSCH set.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • This method can be applied in communication systems that use semi-persistent scheduling for efficient data transmission.
  • It can be used in wireless networks to improve the performance and reliability of downlink data transmission.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • The method solves the problem of efficiently receiving data from multiple SPS PDSCHs within one slot.
  • It addresses the issue of overlapping PDSCHs and ensures that the selected SPS PDSCH and any overlapped PDSCH are excluded from the set.

Benefits of this technology:

  • The method improves the efficiency of data reception by selecting the SPS PDSCH with the lowest index.
  • It reduces interference by excluding the selected SPS PDSCH and any overlapped PDSCH from the set.
  • This technology enhances the overall performance and reliability of downlink data transmission in communication systems.

Original Abstract Submitted

A method performed via a terminal in a communication system, may include: receiving, from a base station, semi persistent scheduling (SPS) configuration information from a base station; identifying, in the case that an SPS activation signal is detected, a set of SPS physical downlink shared channels (PDSCHs) based on the SPS configuration information and the SPS activation signal; receiving, from the base station, in the case that a plurality of SPS PDSCHs are included in the set of the SPS PDSCHs within one slot, data by based on selecting an SPS PDSCH with a lowest index; and excluding the selected SPS PDSCH and a PDSCH overlapped with the selected SPS PDSCH from the SPS PDSCH set, wherein in the case that there are two or more SPS PDSCHs with the lowest index, the data is received through the SPS PDSCH selected based on information included in the SPS activation signal.
