SENSOR ARRANGEMENT STRUCTURE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18468739 titled 'SENSOR ARRANGEMENT STRUCTURE

Simplified Explanation

The sensor arrangement structure described in the patent application makes it easy to arrange a sensor tube by including a bumper beam, a shock absorber with a groove, and a contact sensor with a sensor tube placed between the bumper beam and the shock absorber. The groove is designed to accommodate the sensor tube, with an expansion groove portion wider than the rest of the groove.

  • Bumper beam included in the sensor arrangement structure
  • Shock absorber with a groove for the sensor tube
  • Contact sensor with a sensor tube placed between the bumper beam and shock absorber
  • Groove designed to arrange the sensor tube, with an expansion groove portion wider than the rest of the groove

Potential Applications

The sensor arrangement structure can be used in various industries such as automotive, robotics, and industrial machinery for collision detection and impact sensing applications.

Problems Solved

1. Simplifies the arrangement of sensor tubes 2. Provides a secure and efficient way to mount sensors in front of a bumper beam

Benefits

1. Improved sensor tube arrangement 2. Enhanced shock absorption capabilities 3. Increased durability and reliability of the sensor system

Potential Commercial Applications

Optimizing Sensor Arrangement Structure for Improved Collision Detection in Automotive Industry

Possible Prior Art

There may be prior art related to sensor tube arrangements in the automotive industry, but specific examples are not provided in the patent application.

Unanswered Questions

How does the sensor arrangement structure impact the overall cost of the sensor system?

The patent application does not mention the cost implications of implementing this sensor arrangement structure. It would be interesting to know if this innovation leads to cost savings or increased expenses for manufacturers.

Are there any specific materials recommended for constructing the bumper beam and shock absorber in this sensor arrangement structure?

The patent application does not specify the materials to be used for the bumper beam and shock absorber. Understanding the recommended materials could provide insights into the structural integrity and performance of the sensor system.

Original Abstract Submitted

A sensor arrangement structure that makes a sensor tube easy to arrange is disclosed. The sensor arrangement structure includes a bumper beam; a shock absorber disposed in front of the bumper beam and having a groove; and a contact sensor including a sensor tube, in which the sensor tube is disposed between the bumper beam and the shock absorber, the groove is configured to arrange the sensor tube, the groove includes an expansion groove portion, and the expansion groove portion has a width greater than a width of a rest part of the groove.
