RADIATION IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, OPERATION METHOD OF RADIATION IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18467138 titled 'RADIATION IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, OPERATION METHOD OF RADIATION IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation

The radiation image processing apparatus described in the abstract acquires multiple radiation images of the same subject using different radiation energies, calculates the fat percentage in the subject's soft tissue through subtraction processing, and applies this fat percentage to another radiation image taken at a different time.

  • Acquisition of at least two radiation images with different radiation energies for the same subject
  • Calculation of fat percentage in soft tissue through subtraction processing
  • Application of fat percentage to another radiation image taken at a different timing

Potential Applications

This technology could be used in medical imaging for more accurate analysis of soft tissue composition, such as in assessing body composition or monitoring changes in fat percentage over time.

Problems Solved

1. Improved accuracy in determining fat percentage in soft tissue 2. Enhanced analysis of radiation images for medical diagnosis and treatment planning

Benefits

1. More precise assessment of body composition 2. Better monitoring of changes in fat percentage over time 3. Enhanced capabilities in medical imaging for improved patient care

Potential Commercial Applications

Original Abstract Submitted

A radiation image processing apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention acquires at least two radiation images in which a plurality of radiation energies different from each other are used, respectively, for the same subject, calculates a fat percentage occupied in a soft tissue of the subject by subtraction processing with respect to the two radiation images, and applies the fat percentage to the subtraction processing with respect to another image that is a radiation image in which the subject is imaged at a different timing.
