Electronic Devices for Focused Listening - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18464780 titled 'Electronic Devices for Focused Listening

Simplified Explanation

An electronic device has been developed that allows users to listen to audio playing from an external speaker through their personal speaker device, such as headphones or earbuds. The device includes control circuitry that can gather audio input from the environment using a microphone and process it to identify the audio track currently playing from the external speaker. It then synchronizes the audio track and starts playing it from the user's personal speaker device. The device can also search and buffer upcoming songs from various music streaming platforms and public music content sources.

  • Control circuitry allows users to listen to audio from an external speaker through their personal speaker device.
  • Audio input from the environment is gathered using a microphone.
  • The detected audio input is processed to identify the currently playing audio track from the external speaker.
  • The identified audio track is played in sync from the user's personal speaker device.
  • The device can search and buffer upcoming songs from music streaming platforms and public music content sources.

Potential Applications

  • Personal audio listening experience enhancement.
  • Seamless transition between external speakers and personal speaker devices.
  • Improved synchronization of audio tracks between different devices.

Problems Solved

  • Difficulty in listening to audio from external speakers through personal speaker devices.
  • Lack of synchronization between audio tracks playing on different devices.

Benefits

  • Enhanced user experience by allowing users to listen to audio from external speakers through personal speaker devices.
  • Improved synchronization of audio tracks for a seamless listening experience.
  • Access to a wide range of music content from various streaming platforms and public music sources.

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic device may include control circuitry that allows a user to listen to audio playing from an external speaker in the environment from the user's personal speaker device such as a pair of headphones, earbuds, or a personal loudspeaker. In response to receiving user input, the control circuitry may gather audio input from the environment with a microphone. The control circuitry may process the detected audio input to identify what audio track is currently playing from the external speaker and to determine which part of the audio track is currently playing. The control circuitry may then start playing the identified audio track from the user's personal speaker device in sync with the audio track playing from the external speaker. The electronic device may search music streaming platforms, public radio station information, and other public music content sources to anticipate and buffer upcoming songs.
