The electronic device includes a system circuitry and a battery pack, wherein the battery pack includes a battery management circuitry, a protection operation circuitry, and a battery, wherein the battery management circuitry may be configured to identify a state of the battery to obtain battery state information, activate, on the basis of the battery state information, a ship mode for minimizing power consumption of the battery, and control the protection operation circuitry to electrically disconnect the system circuitry from the battery pack, inactivate the ship mode on the basis of connection between a power key included in the system circuitry and a first pin of the battery management circuitry, and control the protection operation circuitry to electrically connect the system circuitry to the battery pack.
