MANAGEMENT METHOD FOR MANAGING IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND MANAGEMENT SERVER FOR MANAGING IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18461837 titled 'MANAGEMENT METHOD FOR MANAGING IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND MANAGEMENT SERVER FOR MANAGING IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

Simplified Explanation

The management method described in the patent application involves acquiring information about a target region and the situation in that region, specifying a target image forming apparatus in that region, and sending instructions to change the settings of the apparatus based on the acquired information.

  • The method involves acquiring information about a target region and the situation in that region.
  • The method specifies a target image forming apparatus in the target region.
  • The method sends instructions to change the settings of the apparatus based on the acquired information.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in various industries where multiple image forming apparatuses are used, such as healthcare, education, and office environments.

Problems Solved

This technology helps in managing image forming apparatuses more efficiently by adjusting settings based on the specific situation in a target region, such as the spread of an infectious disease or availability of electric power supply.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include improved productivity, cost savings, and better resource management by optimizing the settings of image forming apparatuses according to the specific needs of a target region.

Potential Commercial Applications

A potential commercial application of this technology could be in the healthcare industry, where managing image forming apparatuses in different departments or units based on specific situations is crucial for patient care and operational efficiency.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art for this technology could be existing management systems for image forming apparatuses that focus on remote monitoring and control, but may not have the capability to adjust settings based on specific situations in target regions.

Unanswered Questions

How does this technology ensure data security and privacy when sending instructions to change settings of image forming apparatuses in different regions?

The patent application does not provide details on the data security measures implemented to protect sensitive information when sending instructions to change settings of image forming apparatuses. Additional information on encryption protocols or authentication methods used could address this question.

What is the scalability of this management method for large-scale deployment of image forming apparatuses across multiple regions or facilities?

The patent application does not discuss the scalability of the management method for handling a large number of image forming apparatuses in diverse regions or facilities. Further insights on the system architecture, network infrastructure, and potential challenges in scaling up the technology would be helpful in addressing this question.

Original Abstract Submitted

A management method for managing one or more image forming apparatuses includes: acquiring first information indicating a target region and second information indicating a situation of the target region; specifying a target image forming apparatus installed in the target region in the one or more image forming apparatuses; and outputting, to the target image forming apparatus, a change instruction for changing a setting content of a setting item of the target image forming apparatus to a setting content corresponding to the second information. The second information includes at least one of information regarding a situation of spread of an infectious disease and information regarding electric power supply.
