REMOTE STARTUP SYSTEM, CENTER SERVER, AND REMOTE STARTUP METHOD - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18461479 titled 'REMOTE STARTUP SYSTEM, CENTER SERVER, AND REMOTE STARTUP METHOD

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a remote start system for vehicles that includes a terminal, a center server, and a vehicle with a driving device. The center server receives startup requests, and the vehicle is capable of receiving and starting up the driving device.

  • The system includes an information acquisition unit that can gather information on the transmission availability state of a power transmission device in the vehicle or the operation state of a rotation prevention device.
  • A permission determination unit is also included, which uses the acquired information to determine whether to allow the startup of the driving device based on the received startup request.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Remote start systems for vehicles, allowing users to start their vehicles remotely.
  • Enhanced vehicle security systems, as the permission determination unit can prevent unauthorized startups.
  • Fleet management systems, where the center server can receive startup requests for multiple vehicles.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Ensures that the driving device of the vehicle can only be started when it is safe to do so, based on the availability of the power transmission device or the operation state of the rotation prevention device.
  • Provides a secure and controlled method for remote starting of vehicles, preventing unauthorized use.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Convenience for vehicle owners, as they can remotely start their vehicles.
  • Improved vehicle security, as unauthorized startups can be prevented.
  • Enhanced control and management of vehicle fleets.

Original Abstract Submitted

A remote start system includes: a terminal; a center server configured to receive a startup request; and a vehicle having a driving device, the vehicle configured to receive a startup request, and start up the driving device, wherein at least one of the center server and the vehicle includes an information acquisition unit configured to acquire information on transmission availability state of a power transmission device that transmits power of the driving device in the vehicle to driving wheels, or information on an operation state of a rotation prevention device that prevents rotation of the driving wheels when a function of transmitting the startup request is activated or when the startup request is transmitted, and a permission determination unit configured to determine whether to permit the startup of the driving device based on the startup request, based on the information acquired by the information acquisition unit.
