ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING TOUCH SENSITIVE DISPLAY AND METHOD FOR MANAGING THE DISPLAY - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18456255 titled 'ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING TOUCH SENSITIVE DISPLAY AND METHOD FOR MANAGING THE DISPLAY

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a method for operating an electronic device with a touch-sensitive display. Here is a simplified explanation of the abstract:

  • The method involves displaying multiple application execution screens on the touch-sensitive display without overlapping.
  • It receives touch or hovering input through the display.
  • Based on the input received, it selects one or more application execution screens.
  • The selected screen is then displayed, partially overlapping a non-selected screen.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Mobile devices: This method can be used in smartphones and tablets to enhance multitasking capabilities and improve user experience.
  • Gaming consoles: It can be implemented in gaming consoles to allow players to switch between different game screens without interruption.
  • Productivity tools: This method can be useful in productivity tools like task managers or project management software, enabling users to view and interact with multiple screens simultaneously.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Overlapping screens: By ensuring that application execution screens do not overlap, this method prevents confusion and improves visibility.
  • Efficient multitasking: Users can easily switch between different application screens, enhancing productivity and convenience.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Enhanced user experience: The method allows users to interact with multiple screens without clutter or confusion.
  • Improved multitasking: Users can seamlessly switch between different application screens, increasing efficiency.
  • Clear visibility: By avoiding overlapping screens, the method ensures that each screen is clearly visible and accessible.

Original Abstract Submitted

A method for operating an electronic device including a touch sensitive display is provided. The method includes displaying at least two application execution screens on the touch sensitive display not to be superposed on one another, receiving a touch input or a hovering input through the touch sensitive display, selecting at least one application execution screen among the at least two application execution screens at least partially in response to the reception of the touch input or the hovering input, and displaying the selected application execution screen to be superposed on at least a portion of a non-selected application execution screen among the at least two application execution screens.
