ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND WEARABLE DEVICE FOR PROVIDING FUNCTION FOR MEASURING AMOUNT OF EXERCISE AND OPERATION METHODS THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18454325 titled 'ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND WEARABLE DEVICE FOR PROVIDING FUNCTION FOR MEASURING AMOUNT OF EXERCISE AND OPERATION METHODS THEREOF

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes an electronic device and/or a wearable device that can measure exercise amount and provide information about it. The device includes a communication module to receive sensor data from a wearable device, an input module to receive user input for exercise intensity, a processor to estimate exercise amount based on the sensor data and selected intensity, and a display module to show a graphical user interface with exercise activity indicators.

  • The device can measure exercise amount by analyzing movement information collected by the wearable device.
  • Users can select the intensity of their exercise, which is taken into account when estimating the exercise amount.
  • The device generates an exercise activity indicator that includes graphic indicators representing the estimated exercise amount.
  • The exercise activity indicator is displayed on a graphical user interface, allowing users to easily track their exercise progress.

Potential Applications

  • Fitness tracking devices and apps that provide accurate exercise amount measurements.
  • Personalized exercise programs that adjust intensity based on the estimated exercise amount.
  • Health monitoring devices that can track and analyze exercise data for medical purposes.

Problems Solved

  • Lack of accurate and convenient methods for measuring exercise amount.
  • Difficulty in tracking exercise progress and setting appropriate exercise goals.
  • Inability to personalize exercise programs based on individual intensity preferences.

Benefits

  • Provides users with accurate and real-time information about their exercise amount.
  • Allows users to easily track their exercise progress and set achievable goals.
  • Enables personalized exercise programs that take into account individual intensity preferences.

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic device and/or a wearable device providing exercise amount measurement information, and/or operation methods thereof. An electronic device may include: a communication module configured to receive, from a wearable device, sensor data including movement information during an exercise of a user wearing the wearable device; an input module configured to receive a user input that selects an exercise intensity to be applied to the exercise of the user; a processor configured to estimate an exercise amount of the user based on the received sensor data and the selected exercise intensity, and generate an exercise activity indicator including at least one graphic indicator indicating the estimated exercise amount; and a display module configured to output a graphical user interface (GUI) on which the exercise activity indicator is displayed.
