TRANSMISSIONS OF PHYSICAL DOWNLINK CONTROL CHANNELS IN A COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18449550 titled 'TRANSMISSIONS OF PHYSICAL DOWNLINK CONTROL CHANNELS IN A COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a method for a user equipment (UE) to control a signal transmission based on received configuration information and decoded downlink control information.

  • Receiving configuration information for enabling or disabling signal transmission
  • Receiving a first physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) conveying downlink control information (DCI) format
  • Decoding the first DCI format and determining if it is correctly decoded
  • Transmitting the signal or suspending transmission based on the configuration information and the correctness of the decoded DCI format

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Wireless communication systems
  • Mobile devices
  • Internet of Things (IoT) devices

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Efficient signal transmission control
  • Improved communication reliability
  • Enhanced user experience in wireless networks

Benefits of this technology:

  • Better management of signal transmission
  • Enhanced network performance
  • Increased reliability of communication systems

Original Abstract Submitted

A method of a user equipment (UE) for controlling a signal comprises receiving configuration information for enabling or disabling a signal transmission, receiving a first physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) conveying a first downlink control information (DCI) format, decoding the first DCI format, determining whether the first DCI format is correctly decoded; and transmitting the signal or suspending a transmission of the signal according to the configuration information when the first DCI format is not correctly decoded.
