UPLINK TRANSMISSION METHOD, TERMINAL DEVICE, AND NETWORK DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18384968 titled 'UPLINK TRANSMISSION METHOD, TERMINAL DEVICE, AND NETWORK DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a method for uplink transmission in a communication network, involving the use of indication information to schedule transmissions from a terminal device.

  • The terminal device receives a Downlink Control Information (DCI) from a network device.
  • The DCI includes first indication information and second indication information.
  • The first indication information specifies a SRS resource set for the uplink transmission.
  • The SRS resource set can be a first or second set, depending on the target of the transmission.
  • The second indication information helps determine the target SRS resource within the set.

Potential Applications

This technology can be applied in various communication systems where efficient scheduling of uplink transmissions is required, such as in 5G networks, IoT devices, and satellite communications.

Problems Solved

This method helps optimize the use of resources in the network by efficiently scheduling uplink transmissions based on indication information provided in the DCI, reducing interference and improving overall network performance.

Benefits

- Improved efficiency in scheduling uplink transmissions - Enhanced network performance and reliability - Better utilization of resources leading to increased capacity

Potential Commercial Applications

The technology can be utilized by telecom companies, IoT service providers, and satellite communication operators to enhance the performance of their networks and provide better services to customers.

Possible Prior Art

Prior art in the field of wireless communication systems may include similar methods for scheduling uplink transmissions based on indication information, but specific details of this patent application may offer novel improvements in efficiency and resource utilization.

Unanswered Questions

How does this method handle interference in crowded network environments?

The abstract does not provide details on how the technology addresses interference issues that may arise in densely populated network environments. Further information on interference mitigation strategies would be beneficial.

What impact does this method have on battery life for terminal devices?

The abstract does not mention the potential impact of this method on the battery life of terminal devices. Understanding how this technology may affect power consumption in devices would be important for practical implementation.

Original Abstract Submitted

An uplink transmission method, a terminal device, and a network device are provided. A terminal device receives a DCI transmitted by a network device. The DCI is used to schedule the terminal device to transmit an uplink transmission, and the DCI includes first indication information and second indication information. The first indication information indicates a SRS resource set corresponding to the uplink transmission. The target SRS resource set includes at least one of a first SRS resource set and a second SRS resource set, and the target SRS resource set is a SRS resource set corresponding to the uplink transmission when the uplink transmission is transmitted to a STRP or a MTRP. The second indication information is used to determine a target SRS resource corresponding to the uplink transmission in the target SRS resource set.
