ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR TRANSMITTING SRS AND AN OPERATION METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18384657 titled 'ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR TRANSMITTING SRS AND AN OPERATION METHOD THEREOF

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes an electronic device with multiple antennas, radio-frequency front-ends, a radio-frequency integrated circuit, and a processor that can determine whether to transmit a sounding reference signal simultaneously with another signal using one antenna.

  • The electronic device includes multiple antennas, a first radio-frequency front-end with switches, a second radio-frequency front-end, a radio-frequency integrated circuit, and a processor.
  • The first radio-frequency front-end receives a sounding reference signal from the second radio-frequency front-end.
  • The processor decides whether to transmit the sounding reference signal and another signal simultaneously using one antenna.
  • If simultaneous transmission is chosen, the processor adjusts the switches to enable the transmission.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Wireless communication devices
  • Internet of Things (IoT) devices
  • Radar systems

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Efficient use of antennas for simultaneous signal transmission
  • Improved signal quality and reliability
  • Enhanced communication capabilities in crowded radio-frequency environments

Benefits of this technology:

  • Increased data transmission speeds
  • Enhanced network performance
  • Better connectivity in challenging wireless environments

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic device includes: a plurality of antennas; a first radio-frequency front-end (RFFE) including a third switch and multiple switches (a first switch and a second switch); a second RFFE; a radio-frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) connected to the first RFFE and the second RFFE; and a processor. The first RFFE receives a sounding reference signal (SRS) from the second RFFE. The processor is configured to: determine whether to transmit the SRS simultaneously with a signal generated in the first RFFE by using one antenna; and based on a determination to simultaneously transmit the SRS and the signal, adjust the third switch and the multiple switches to simultaneously transmit the SRS and the signal by using the one antenna.
