AUDIO CONTROL SYSTEM, AUDIO CONTROL METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18382707 titled 'AUDIO CONTROL SYSTEM, AUDIO CONTROL METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes an audio control system that adjusts the sound volume outputted from a loudspeaker based on the loudness of the sound picked up by a microphone in a different space.

  • An obtainer obtains sound data from a microphone in a second space.
  • A storage holds sound source data.
  • A controller causes a loudspeaker in either the first or second space to play audio louder in the second space based on the sound data obtained.
  • The controller adjusts the sound volume outputted from the loudspeaker to be lower as the loudness of the sound picked up by the microphone increases.

  • Ensures that audio is heard clearly in a different space than where it was originally produced
  • Prevents sound distortion or discomfort due to loudness variations
      1. Benefits
  • Improved audio quality in different spaces
  • Enhanced user experience with consistent sound levels
  • Better communication in various environments

Original Abstract Submitted

An audio control system includes: an obtainer that obtains sound data indicating a sound picked up by a microphone disposed in a second space located in an area surrounding a first space used by a person; a storage in which sound source data is stored; and a controller that causes a loudspeaker disposed in the first space or the second space to reproduce an audio obtained from the sound source data more loudly in the second space than in the first space. The controller determines a loudness the sound indicated in the sound data obtained, and adjusts a sound volume of the audio outputted from the loudspeaker to be lower with an increase in the loudness of the sound determined.
