LIGHT SOURCE APPARATUS AND PROJECTOR - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18375295 titled 'LIGHT SOURCE APPARATUS AND PROJECTOR

Simplified Explanation

The light source apparatus described in the abstract includes various components such as a first light source section, a second light source section, a wavelength converter, a light combiner, and a filter. The apparatus is designed to output light containing different polarized components and wavelengths, combine the different light sources, and attenuate specific wavelengths.

  • First light source section outputs light with first and second polarized components
  • Second light source section outputs second light
  • Wavelength converter converts first light into third light
  • Light combiner combines first light, second light, and third light
  • Filter attenuates light of a specific wavelength band
  • Light combiner reflects first polarized component and transmits second polarized component
  • Filter is movable

Original Abstract Submitted

A light source apparatus according to an aspect of the present disclosure includes a first light source section that outputs first light containing a first polarized component and a second polarized component, a second light source section that outputs second light, a wavelength converter that converts the first light into third light, a light combiner that combines the first light, the second light, and the third light, and a filter that attenuates light of the third wavelength band. The light combiner reflects the first polarized component and transmits the second polarized component to cause one of he first polarized component and the second polarized component to exit toward the wavelength converter, and transmits the first light and the second light or the third light and reflects the third light or the first light and the second light. The filter is movable.
