INFORMATION NOTIFICATION SYSTEM, INFORMATION NOTIFICATION METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18374711 titled 'INFORMATION NOTIFICATION SYSTEM, INFORMATION NOTIFICATION METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation

The information notification system described in the patent application displays notifications to a user of a vehicle on a display device. The system includes two types of notifications: road traffic information and non-road traffic information. The system ensures that these two types of notifications do not overlap when displayed on the display device, and selects which type of notification to display when there is only one display area available.

  • Road traffic information notification
  • Non-road traffic information notification
  • Prevention of overlap between different types of notifications
  • Selection of notification type when only one display area is available

Potential Applications

The technology described in this patent application could be applied in the following areas:

  • In-vehicle information systems
  • Navigation systems
  • Traffic management systems

Problems Solved

This technology addresses the following issues:

  • Cluttered display of notifications
  • Confusion caused by overlapping notifications
  • Efficient utilization of limited display space

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include:

  • Clear and organized display of information
  • Improved user experience
  • Optimal use of display space

Potential Commercial Applications

The potential commercial applications of this technology include:

  • Automotive industry
  • Transportation and logistics companies
  • Smart city initiatives

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art for this technology could be the use of notification systems in mobile devices or smartwatches, where notifications are managed and displayed to the user without overlap.

Unanswered Questions

How does the system prioritize which type of notification to display when there is limited space?

The patent application does not provide details on the criteria used to select between road traffic information and non-road traffic information notifications.

Are there any specific sensors or data sources mentioned in the patent application for gathering road traffic information?

The patent application does not specify the sources of road traffic information used by the system.

Original Abstract Submitted

An information notification system displays a notification to a user of a vehicle on a display device. A first type notification is a notification of road traffic information on a road or traffic around the vehicle. A second type notification is a notification of information not belonging to the road traffic information or a notification that no road traffic information is available. The information notification system prohibits overlaying the first type notification and the second type notification when displayed on the display device. When the display device has only a single display area for displaying the notification, the information notification system selects and displays one of the first type notification and the second type notification in the single display area.
