Vehicle - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18374706 titled 'Vehicle

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a vehicle with a power storage device that includes a flow regulation plate to control airflow within the vehicle.

  • The vehicle body has a bottom portion.
  • The power storage device has a main body with a front wall portion, a rear wall portion, and a lower surface.
  • A flow regulation plate is pivotable and has a distal end portion spaced downward from the bottom portion.
  • A protruding portion on the lower surface side of the main body abuts against the flow regulation plate when in a fixed state.
  • The flow regulation plate covers at least one of the front wall portion and the rear wall portion when in the fixed state.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in electric vehicles to optimize airflow around the power storage device, improving efficiency and performance.

Problems Solved

This innovation solves the problem of inefficient airflow management within a vehicle, ensuring proper cooling and ventilation for the power storage device.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include improved energy efficiency, enhanced performance, and potentially longer lifespan of the power storage device due to better temperature regulation.

Potential Commercial Applications

One potential commercial application of this technology could be in the electric vehicle industry, where optimizing airflow around the power storage device is crucial for overall vehicle performance.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art could be similar airflow regulation systems in vehicles, but this specific combination of a power storage device and a pivotable flow regulation plate may be unique.

Unanswered Questions

How does this technology impact the overall aerodynamics of the vehicle?

This article does not delve into how the airflow regulation system affects the aerodynamics of the vehicle as a whole. It would be interesting to explore how this system contributes to reducing drag or improving stability.

What materials are used in the construction of the power storage device and flow regulation plate?

The materials used in these components could have a significant impact on their durability and performance, but this information is not provided in the abstract.

Original Abstract Submitted

A vehicle includes: a vehicle body having a bottom portion; a power storage device including a main body having a front wall portion, a rear wall portion, and a lower surface; and a flow regulation plate having a distal end portion at a position spaced downward from the bottom portion, a protruding portion is provided on the lower surface side of the main body; in a fixed state in which the power storage device is fixed to the vehicle body, the lower surface is located downward of the bottom portion; the flow regulation plate is provided to be pivotable; and in the fixed state, the protruding portion abuts against the flow regulation plate to maintain a state in which the flow regulation plate covers at least one of the front wall portion and the rear wall portion.
