ELECTRONIC APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18372845 titled 'ELECTRONIC APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

Simplified Explanation

The disclosed electronic apparatus includes an image projection unit and a processor. The processor controls the image projection unit to project a test image with multiple markers onto a projection surface. It identifies the position of each marker in the test image, based on first information. It also analyzes a captured image of the projection surface from an external device to obtain second information. Additionally, it has information about a guide area. The processor performs keystone correction to project an image corresponding to the guide area, using the first information, second information, and guide area information.

  • The electronic apparatus includes an image projection unit and a processor.
  • The processor controls the image projection unit to project a test image with multiple markers onto a projection surface.
  • The processor identifies the position of each marker in the test image using first information.
  • The processor analyzes a captured image of the projection surface from an external device to obtain second information.
  • The processor has information about a guide area.
  • The processor performs keystone correction to project an image corresponding to the guide area using the first information, second information, and guide area information.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Projection mapping: The electronic apparatus can be used in projection mapping applications where precise alignment and positioning of projected images are required.
  • Presentations and conferences: The apparatus can be used in presentations and conferences to ensure accurate projection of slides and visual aids.
  • Virtual reality and gaming: This technology can be utilized in virtual reality and gaming setups to project immersive visuals onto surfaces.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Keystone distortion: The apparatus solves the problem of keystone distortion, where projected images appear distorted due to the angle of projection.
  • Alignment issues: It addresses alignment issues by accurately identifying the position of markers and performing keystone correction to project images correctly.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved image quality: The apparatus ensures that images are projected without distortion or misalignment, resulting in improved image quality.
  • Easy setup: The use of markers and captured images simplifies the setup process, making it easier for users to align and adjust the projection.
  • Versatility: The technology can be applied to various projection surfaces and environments, making it versatile for different applications.

Original Abstract Submitted

Disclosed is an electronic apparatus. The electronic apparatus comprises: an image projection unit; and a processor which controls the image projection unit to project a test image including a plurality of markers onto a projection surface, identifies first information indicating the position of each of the plurality of markers in the test image, second information based on a captured image captured of the projection surface from an external device, and information about a guide area, and performs keystone correction so that an image corresponding to the guide area is projected based on the first information, the second information, and the information about the guide area.
