ENDPOINTS FOR VIRTUAL PRIVATE LABEL CLOUDS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18368877 titled 'ENDPOINTS FOR VIRTUAL PRIVATE LABEL CLOUDS

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes novel techniques for creating service endpoints associated with different virtual private label clouds (vPLCs) for accessing a cloud service.

  • The endpoint management service (EMS) uses a unique architecture that allows the concurrent use of multiple vPLC-specific service endpoints to access the same cloud service running on multiple vPLC-specific resources.
  • Each vPLC-specific service endpoint is associated with a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) and an IP address.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in cloud computing environments where multiple vPLCs are used to access cloud services efficiently and securely.

Problems Solved

1. Efficiently accessing cloud services across multiple vPLCs. 2. Ensuring secure communication between vPLCs and cloud services.

Benefits

1. Improved performance and scalability in accessing cloud services. 2. Enhanced security through vPLC-specific service endpoints. 3. Simplified management of service endpoints across different vPLCs.

Potential Commercial Applications

Optimizing cloud service access for businesses using multiple vPLCs.

Possible Prior Art

No prior art information is available at this time.

Unanswered Questions

How does this technology impact the scalability of cloud services across multiple vPLCs?

This technology enables the concurrent use of multiple vPLC-specific service endpoints, potentially improving the scalability of cloud services across different vPLCs by distributing the workload efficiently.

What security measures are in place to protect the communication between vPLCs and cloud services?

The use of vPLC-specific service endpoints with FQDNs and IP addresses can enhance security by ensuring that communication is restricted to authorized vPLCs, reducing the risk of unauthorized access.

Original Abstract Submitted

Novel techniques for creating service endpoints associated with different virtual private label clouds (vPLCs) for accessing a cloud service are disclosed. In certain embodiments, an endpoint management service (EMS) uses a novel architecture that enables the concurrent use of multiple vPLC-specific service endpoints with one endpoint per cloud service per vPLC to access the same cloud service running on multiple vPLC-specific resources. In some embodiments, each vPLC-specific service endpoint may be associated with a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) and an IP address.
