METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PBCH PAYLOAD IN HIGHER FREQUENCY RANGES - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18366543 titled 'METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PBCH PAYLOAD IN HIGHER FREQUENCY RANGES

Simplified Explanation

- Apparatuses and methods for transmitting or receiving a synchronization signals and physical broadcast channel (SS/PBCH) block in a wireless communication system. - Method involves receiving a SS/PBCH block, decoding the content of a PBCH in the SS/PBCH block, and determining if the system operates with shared spectrum channel access based on the PBCH content. - The method further includes determining the PBCH content in a first manner if the system operates with shared spectrum channel access, or in a second manner if the system operates without shared spectrum channel access.

Potential Applications

- Wireless communication systems - Mobile networks - Internet of Things (IoT) devices

Problems Solved

- Efficient synchronization and broadcast channel access in wireless communication systems - Optimizing spectrum usage in shared spectrum environments

Benefits

- Improved reliability and efficiency in wireless communication - Enhanced performance in shared spectrum environments - Better utilization of available spectrum resources

Original Abstract Submitted

Apparatuses and methods for transmitting or receiving a synchronization signals and physical broadcast channel (SS/PBCH) block in a wireless communication system. A method of operating a user equipment (UE) includes receiving a SS/PBCH block, decoding a content of a PBCH in the SS/PBCH block, and determining whether the wireless communication system operates with shared spectrum channel access based on the content of the PBCH. The method further includes determining the content of the PBCH in a first manner based on determining that the wireless communication system operates with shared spectrum channel access or determining the content of the PBCH in a second manner based on determining that the wireless communication system operates without shared spectrum channel access.
