METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ENERGY SAVING IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18366246 titled 'METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ENERGY SAVING IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

Simplified Explanation

- User equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system receives configuration information for reference signals (RS) from a base station. - The UE also receives reconfiguration information for RS from the base station. - The UE identifies a pathloss-RS (PL-RS) for measuring downlink pathloss based on the received information. - The first transmission density of the first RS is higher than the second transmission density of the second RS.

Potential Applications

- Next-generation 5G or 6G communication systems - High-speed data transmission networks

Problems Solved

- Increasing data transmission rates - Efficient management of reference signals in wireless communication systems

Benefits

- Higher data transmission rates - Improved network performance - Enhanced communication reliability

Original Abstract Submitted

The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system includes receiving, from a base station, configuration information associated with at least one first reference signal (RS), receiving, from the base station, reconfiguration information associated with at least one second RS, and identifying a pathloss-RS (PL-RS) for measuring a downlink pathloss based on the configuration information and the reconfiguration information, wherein a first transmission density of the at least one first RS is greater than a second transmission density of the at least one second RS.
