WIPER BLADE APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18358185 titled 'WIPER BLADE APPARATUS

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a wiper blade apparatus that includes a spring strip with a wiper strip unit, a wiper base body, a recess, and a damping cavity. It also includes a wind deflector unit with guide bars that overlap with the wiper base body. The wiper strip unit has resilient support elements supported between the wiper base body and the guide bars.

  • The wiper blade apparatus includes a spring strip with a wiper strip unit and a wiper base body.
  • The wiper strip unit consists of a wiper lip and a wiper base body that bounds a recess.
  • The wiper strip unit also includes at least one resilient support element arranged on the wiper base body.
  • The spring strip has a receptacle for the recess and a separate damping cavity.
  • The wind deflector unit partially overlaps with the wiper base body and has guide bars extending to both sides of the wiper base body.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Automotive industry: The wiper blade apparatus can be used in vehicles to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of windshield cleaning.
  • Aerospace industry: The technology can be applied to aircraft to enhance visibility during adverse weather conditions.
  • Construction industry: The wiper blade apparatus can be used in construction vehicles to ensure clear visibility on construction sites.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Improved cleaning performance: The wiper blade apparatus with resilient support elements provides better contact with the windshield, resulting in improved cleaning performance.
  • Reduced noise and vibration: The separate damping cavity helps reduce noise and vibration during wiper blade operation.
  • Enhanced durability: The design of the wiper strip unit and wind deflector unit improves the durability and longevity of the wiper blade apparatus.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved visibility: The wiper blade apparatus ensures clear visibility by effectively removing dirt, water, and debris from the windshield.
  • Quieter operation: The separate damping cavity reduces noise and vibration, resulting in a quieter wiper blade operation.
  • Longer lifespan: The resilient support elements and durable design contribute to a longer lifespan of the wiper blade apparatus.

Original Abstract Submitted

A wiper blade apparatus with at least one spring strip having at least one wiper strip unit, which comprises at least one wiper lip and at least one wiper base body, which bounds at least one recess to a receptacle of the at least one spring strip and at least one damping cavity that is separate from the recess, and having at least one wind deflector unit, which at least partially overlaps with the wiper base body of the wiper strip unit and which comprises at least two guide bars, which extends to both sides of the wiper base body. It is proposed that the wiper strip unit comprise at least one resilient support elements arranged on the wiper base body and supported between the wiper base body and at least one of the guide bars.
