RECORDING DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18357062 titled 'RECORDING DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a recording device with a drive transmission mechanism that can swing between engaging and disengaging with a driven gear, regulated by a regulating mechanism that swings around the rotation axis of the driven gear.

  • The recording device includes a drive source, a driven portion with a driven gear, a drive transmission mechanism with a drive gear, and a regulating mechanism.
  • The drive transmission mechanism can swing between engaging and disengaging with the driven gear.
  • The regulating mechanism can swing to regulate the swing of the drive transmission mechanism around the rotation axis of the driven gear.

Potential Applications

The technology described in this patent application could be applied in various recording devices such as cameras, camcorders, and audio recorders.

Problems Solved

This technology solves the problem of ensuring precise engagement and disengagement of gears in recording devices, leading to more accurate and reliable recordings.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include improved recording quality, increased durability of the recording device, and enhanced user experience with smoother operation.

Potential Commercial Applications

The technology could be utilized in the development of high-quality recording devices for professional use in industries such as filmmaking, broadcasting, and surveillance.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art for this technology could be similar gear engagement mechanisms used in mechanical devices such as clocks and watches.

Unanswered Questions

How does the regulating mechanism ensure precise regulation of the drive transmission mechanism?

The regulating mechanism may use a specific design or mechanism to control the swing of the drive transmission mechanism effectively.

Are there any alternative methods to regulate the swing of the drive transmission mechanism in recording devices?

There may be other approaches or technologies that can achieve similar results in regulating the engagement of gears in recording devices.

Original Abstract Submitted

A recording device includes: a drive source; a driven portion having a driven gear; a drive transmission mechanism having a drive gear driven by the drive source and capable of swing between a first position where the drive gear is engaged with the driven gear and a second position where the drive gear is not engaged with the driven gear; and a regulating mechanism capable of swing between a regulating position where swing of the drive transmission mechanism is regulated and a non-regulating position where the swing of the drive transmission mechanism is not regulated. In the recording device, the regulating mechanism is capable of swing around a rotation axis of the driven gear.
