SOUNDING REFERENCE SIGNAL PRECODING - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18348730 titled 'SOUNDING REFERENCE SIGNAL PRECODING

Simplified Explanation

The present disclosure relates to wireless communication and specifically to a method for sounding reference signal (SRS) precoding in user equipment (UE). The UE receives an indication of an SRS resource for SRS precoding based on a downlink measurement. The total quantity of configured SRS ports for transmission is less than or equal to the quantity of receive antennas configured at the UE. The UE then transmits an SRS with SRS precoding based on the indicated SRS resource.

  • The UE receives an indication of an SRS resource for SRS precoding based on a downlink measurement.
  • The total quantity of configured SRS ports for transmission is less than or equal to the quantity of receive antennas configured at the UE.
  • The UE transmits an SRS with SRS precoding based on the indicated SRS resource.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Wireless communication systems
  • Mobile devices
  • Cellular networks

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Efficient utilization of SRS resources
  • Improved SRS precoding in UE
  • Enhanced wireless communication performance

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved signal transmission and reception
  • Increased capacity and efficiency of wireless networks
  • Enhanced user experience in terms of data rates and network coverage

Original Abstract Submitted

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a sounding reference signal (SRS) resource for SRS precoding that is based at least in part on a downlink measurement, where a total quantity of configured SRS ports for transmission is less than or equal to a quantity of receive antennas configured at the UE. The UE may transmit an SRS with SRS precoding based at least in part on the SRS resource. Numerous other aspects are described.
