WEARABLE DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR PROVIDING EXERCISE POSTURE EVALUATION INFORMATION OF USER AND OPERATION METHODS THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18347869 titled 'WEARABLE DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR PROVIDING EXERCISE POSTURE EVALUATION INFORMATION OF USER AND OPERATION METHODS THEREOF

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes an electronic device and a wearable device that provide exercise posture evaluation information. The electronic device includes an input module, a communication module, a processor, and a display module.

  • The input module receives user input to select an exercise program for a user wearing the wearable device.
  • The communication module receives sensor data from the wearable device, which includes movement information of the user during the exercise.
  • The processor analyzes the sensor data to determine an exercise posture measurement value of the user.
  • The processor generates a graphical user interface (GUI) that includes a visual guide object.
  • The visual guide object includes a first indicator that shows the correct exercise posture for the selected exercise program.
  • The visual guide object also includes at least one second indicator that shows the exercise posture measurement value of the user.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Fitness tracking devices and apps that provide real-time feedback on exercise posture.
  • Physical therapy devices that help patients maintain correct posture during rehabilitation exercises.
  • Sports training devices that assist athletes in improving their form and technique.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Lack of real-time feedback on exercise posture, which can lead to incorrect form and potential injuries.
  • Difficulty in self-assessing exercise posture without the help of a trainer or instructor.
  • Inability to track and monitor progress in maintaining correct exercise posture over time.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Provides immediate feedback on exercise posture, allowing users to make adjustments in real-time.
  • Helps users maintain correct form and reduce the risk of injuries during exercise.
  • Enables users to track their progress in maintaining correct exercise posture and make improvements over time.

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic device and a wearable device providing exercise posture evaluation information, and operation methods thereof are disclosed. The electronic device includes: an input module configured to receive a user input that selects an exercise program to be performed by a user wearing the wearable device; a communication module configured to receive, from the wearable device, sensor data including movement information of the user during an exercise performed by the user according to the selected exercise program; a processor configured to determine an exercise posture measurement value of the user based on the sensor data, and generate a first visual guide object including a first indicator indicating an exercise posture reference for the selected exercise program and at least one second indicator indicating the exercise posture measurement value; and a display module configured to output a graphical user interface (GUI) on which the first visual guide object is displayed.
