Interactive Element in a Replay - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18345661 titled 'Interactive Element in a Replay

Simplified Explanation

- An electronic device, such as a head-mounted device, can display extended reality content, like a three-dimensional environment. - The device can switch between different viewing modes with varying levels of immersion based on user input. - The three-dimensional environment can represent a multiuser communication session. - The session can be saved and viewed later as a replay, with an interactive virtual object that can be manipulated by the user. - Some sessions may be hierarchical, with a presenter and audience members who receive feedback based on audience reactions. - Participants can switch roles between audience member and presenter during the session.

Potential Applications

- Virtual reality presentations and meetings - Interactive educational experiences - Collaborative design and brainstorming sessions

Problems Solved

- Enhancing user engagement in virtual environments - Facilitating interactive communication and collaboration - Providing a dynamic and immersive experience for users

Benefits

- Improved user interaction and engagement - Enhanced communication and collaboration in virtual settings - Customizable viewing experiences for different users

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic device such as a head-mounted device may present extended reality content such as a representation of a three-dimensional environment. The representation of the three-dimensional environment may be changed between different viewing modes having different immersion levels in response to user input. The three-dimensional environment may represent a multiuser communication session. A multiuser communication session may be saved and subsequently viewed as a replay. There may be an interactive virtual object within the replay of the multiuser communication session. The pose of the interactive virtual object may be manipulated by a user while the replay is paused. Some multiuser communication sessions may be hierarchical multiuser communication sessions with a presenter and audience members. The presenter and audience members may receive generalized feedback based on the audience members during the presentation. A participant may have their role changed between audience member and presenter during the presentation.
