SOUNDING REFERENCE SIGNAL ENHANCEMENT FOR EIGHT TRANSMIT UPLINK OPERATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18339632 titled 'SOUNDING REFERENCE SIGNAL ENHANCEMENT FOR EIGHT TRANSMIT UPLINK OPERATION

Simplified Explanation

The patent application discusses systems and methods for enhancing Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) for eight transmit uplink operation. It includes the design and use of SRS resource sets corresponding to eight transmit uplink operation, as well as eight transmit eight receive (8T8R) antenna switching operation. The application also covers codebook Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) operation and non-codebook PUSCH operation for eight transmit uplink. Additionally, it discusses embodiments applicable in both codebook and non-codebook PUSCH cases.

  • Design and use of SRS resource sets for eight transmit uplink operation
  • Eight transmit eight receive (8T8R) antenna switching operation
  • Codebook Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) operation
  • Non-codebook PUSCH operation for eight transmit uplink
  • Applicability in both codebook and non-codebook PUSCH cases

Potential Applications

This technology can be applied in wireless communication systems, particularly in enhancing uplink transmission performance in scenarios with eight transmit antennas.

Problems Solved

- Enhances Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) for improved uplink operation - Optimizes antenna switching operation for better signal reception - Provides efficient codebook and non-codebook PUSCH operation for eight transmit antennas

Benefits

- Improved uplink transmission performance - Enhanced signal reception and coverage - Efficient resource allocation for uplink operation

Original Abstract Submitted

Systems and methods for sounding reference signal (SRS) enhancement for eight transmit (Tx) uplink (UL) operation are discussed. Embodiments herein relate to the design and use of SRS resource sets (and SRS resources therein) corresponding to eight Tx UL operation. Embodiments of eight transmit eight receive (Rx) (8T8R) antenna switching operation are discussed. Further, embodiments of eight Tx UL operation codebook physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) operation are discussed. Still further, embodiments of eight Tx UL non-codebook PUSCH operation are discussed. Still further, embodiments for eight Tx UL operation applicable in either/both codebook and non-codebook PUSCH cases are discussed.
