A method for configuring a quality measurement by a network node in a mobile communication system is provided. The method includes receiving, from a user equipment (UE), performance information indicating that the UE supports a quality of experience (QoE) measurement for an extended reality (XR) service, transmitting, to the UE, a QoE measurement configuration indicating parameters to be reported for the QoE measurement, and receiving, from the UE, a QoE measurement report including at least one of the parameters.
