CONTROL CALCULATION APPARATUS AND CONTROL CALCULATION METHOD - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18276505 titled 'CONTROL CALCULATION APPARATUS AND CONTROL CALCULATION METHOD

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a control calculation apparatus that suppresses an increase in calculation load by using two different vehicle models to generate trajectories and calculate a target value based on the second trajectory.

  • The control calculation apparatus includes:
 * First trajectory generation unit
 * Second trajectory generation unit
 * Target value calculation unit
  • The first trajectory is generated based on a first vehicle model and place, while the second trajectory is generated based on a second vehicle model with a higher degree, a different place, and the first trajectory.
  • The target value is calculated and outputted based on the second trajectory.

Original Abstract Submitted

An object is to provide a technique of suppressing increase in a calculation load by an elaborate vehicle model. A control calculation apparatus includes: a first trajectory generation unit generating a first trajectory of a vehicle in a first prediction period based on a first vehicle model and a first place; a second trajectory generation unit generating a second trajectory of the vehicle in a second prediction period based on a second vehicle model having a degree larger than a degree of the first vehicle model, a second place different from the first place, and the first trajectory; and a target value calculation unit calculating and outputting a target value based on the second trajectory.
