METHOD AND DEVICE FOR USING AUXILIARY INFORMATION BEING TRANSMITTED FROM FORWARD DIRECTION OF BIDIRECTIONAL QUANTUM KEY DISTRIBUTION PROCEDURE IN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18266799 titled 'METHOD AND DEVICE FOR USING AUXILIARY INFORMATION BEING TRANSMITTED FROM FORWARD DIRECTION OF BIDIRECTIONAL QUANTUM KEY DISTRIBUTION PROCEDURE IN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

Simplified Explanation

    • Explanation:**

The patent application discloses a communication system that supports quantum key distribution. The method involves transmitting or receiving a random access preamble, receiving or transmitting a random access response message, performing a radio resource control connection procedure, generating a sift key for communication, and communicating through a radio channel using the sift key.

    • Potential Applications:**

- Secure communication systems - Quantum cryptography - Quantum key distribution networks

    • Problems Solved:**

- Ensuring secure communication - Preventing eavesdropping - Protecting sensitive data

    • Benefits:**

- Enhanced security - Quantum-resistant encryption - Secure communication channels

Original Abstract Submitted

A communication system supporting quantum key distribution is disclosed. A method performed by a first device comprises transmitting or receiving a random access (RA) preamble to or from a second device, receiving or transmitting a random access response (RAR) message from or to the second device as a response to the RA preamble, performing a radio resource control (RRC) connection procedure with the second device, generating a sift key for communication with the second device and performing communication through a radio channel with the second device using the sift key.
