A terminal device may terminal device may comprise at least one processor and at least one memory including computer program code. The at least one memory and the computer program code may be configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the terminal device to perform actions including detecting a beam failure state in association with at least one serving beam, and determining if at least one non-serving beam better than the at least one serving beam is available. The actions may further include triggering an early beam failure recovery (BFR) procedure in a case where the beam failure state is detected and the at least one non-serving beam better than the at least one serving beam is available.
