The first electronic device is connected to a second electronic device, and the method includes: The first electronic device receives a target operation performed by a user on a first interface of the first electronic device. The target operation is for triggering access to a first service, and the first service is associated with the second electronic device. The first electronic device obtains a target authentication manner corresponding to the target operation, and then the first electronic device acquires authentication information based on the target authentication manner, and sends an authentication request to the second electronic device. The authentication request includes the authentication information, the authentication request is for requesting the second electronic device to perform authentication on the first service, and the second electronic device generates an authentication result after performing authentication on the first service.
