TRANSMISSION OF CANCELLED UPLINK CONTROL INFORMATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18261975 titled 'TRANSMISSION OF CANCELLED UPLINK CONTROL INFORMATION

Simplified Explanation

The patent application relates to wireless communication and how a user equipment (UE) can cancel uplink data communication that is to be multiplexed with uplink control information (UCI).

  • User equipment (UE) can cancel uplink data communication to be multiplexed with uplink control information (UCI).
  • UE can decide whether to transmit UCI automatically after cancellation or in response to downlink control information (DCI) instructing transmission.
  • UCI transmission by UE is based on the determination made.

Potential Applications

  • Wireless communication systems
  • Mobile devices
  • Internet of Things (IoT) devices

Problems Solved

  • Efficient use of uplink resources
  • Improved transmission of control information
  • Enhanced communication reliability

Benefits

  • Optimal use of network resources
  • Reduced interference
  • Enhanced overall system performance

Original Abstract Submitted

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may cancel an uplink data communication that is to be multiplexed with uplink control information (UCI). The UE may determine whether to transmit the UCI using automatic transmission of cancelled UCI or in response to downlink control information (DCI) that instructs the UE to transmit cancelled UCI. The UE may transmit the UCI based at least in part on the determination. Numerous other aspects are described.
