RESOURCE ALLOCATION STATUS SUBSCRIPTION FOR APPLICATION RELATED FUNCTION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18259583 titled 'RESOURCE ALLOCATION STATUS SUBSCRIPTION FOR APPLICATION RELATED FUNCTION

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes methods and apparatuses for resolving resource allocation status subscription issues for an Application Related Function (ARF).

  • The method involves transmitting a request to an Exposure Function (EF) containing a resource allocation confirmation indication and a resource allocation status feature.
  • The resource allocation status notification is used to indicate resource allocation success or failure.
  • The method includes receiving a response from the EF with a status response feature indicating support for resource allocation status by both the ARF and EF.

Potential Applications

  • Telecommunications industry for managing resource allocation in network functions.
  • Internet of Things (IoT) devices for efficient resource allocation in connected systems.

Problems Solved

  • Ensures accurate communication of resource allocation status between ARF and EF.
  • Helps in resolving issues related to resource allocation confirmation and status notifications.

Benefits

  • Improved efficiency in resource allocation management.
  • Enhanced communication between different functions in an application ecosystem.
  • Better troubleshooting and issue resolution capabilities.

Original Abstract Submitted

Methods and apparatuses for resolving an issue in resource allocation status subscription for an application related function (ARF). A method of operation of the ARF comprises transmitting a request to an exposure function (EF). Herein, the request comprises a resource allocation confirmation indication that indicates whether a resource allocation status notification is required and a resource allocation status feature that indicates whether the ARF supports a resource allocation status. The resource allocation status notification is used to indicate resource allocation success or resource allocation failure. The method further comprises receiving, from the EF, a response comprising a status response feature that indicates whether both the ARF and the EF support the resource allocation status.
