IMPROVEMENT TO PUBLIC LAND MOBILE NETWORK SEARCH AT SWITCH-ON FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18256034 titled 'IMPROVEMENT TO PUBLIC LAND MOBILE NETWORK SEARCH AT SWITCH-ON FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes a patent application for improvements to the search process for public land mobile networks (PLMN) on user equipment (UE) during wireless communications. The UE determines whether to request a service associated with a specific radio access technology (RAT) and checks if the identifier of a registered PLMN associated with that RAT is present in the UE. If the identifier is present, the UE connects to the first cell of the registered PLMN.
- The patent application aims to improve the search process for PLMNs on user equipment during wireless communications.
- The user equipment (UE) determines whether to request a service associated with a specific radio access technology (RAT).
- The UE checks if the identifier of a registered public land mobile network (RPLMN) associated with the RAT is present in the UE.
- If the identifier is present, the UE connects to the first cell of the registered PLMN.
- This technology aims to streamline the process of connecting to the appropriate PLMN for wireless communications.
Potential applications of this technology:
- Mobile network operators can use this technology to improve the efficiency and speed of network selection for user equipment.
- Users of wireless devices can benefit from faster and more reliable connections to the appropriate public land mobile network.
- This technology can be applied in various wireless communication devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and IoT devices.
Problems solved by this technology:
- Simplifies the process of selecting the appropriate public land mobile network for wireless communications.
- Reduces the time and effort required for user equipment to connect to the desired network.
- Improves the overall user experience by ensuring faster and more reliable network connections.
Benefits of this technology:
- Faster and more efficient network selection process for user equipment.
- Improved reliability and stability of wireless connections.
- Enhanced user experience with seamless network switching and connectivity.
Original Abstract Submitted
Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for improvements to public land mobile network (PLMN) search at user equipment (UE) switch-on for wireless communications are disclosed herein. A user equipment (UE) may determine to request for a first service associated with a first radio access technology (RAT). The UE may determine whether an identifier of a first registered public land mobile network (RPLMN) associated with the first RAT is present in the UE. The UE may camp on a first cell of the first RPLMN when the identifier of the first RPLMN is present in the UE.
