PROJECTION DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18252993 titled 'PROJECTION DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a projection device designed for use at a construction site. The device includes a projector, a distance meter, a rotation driver, an angle sensor, and a data processor. The distance meter measures the distance to the projection plane, while the rotation driver rotates the projector and distance meter. The angle sensor measures the rotation angle of the rotation driver. The data processor corrects the image projected by the projector using the distance measured by the distance meter and the rotation angle measured by the angle sensor.

  • The device is specifically designed for use at construction sites.
  • It includes a projector, distance meter, rotation driver, angle sensor, and data processor.
  • The distance meter measures the distance to the projection plane.
  • The rotation driver rotates the projector and distance meter.
  • The angle sensor measures the rotation angle of the rotation driver.
  • The data processor corrects the projected image using the distance and rotation angle measurements.

Potential Applications

  • Construction sites: The device can be used to project images onto construction surfaces for various purposes such as marking measurements, displaying plans, or providing visual guidance.

Problems Solved

  • Accurate projection: The device solves the problem of accurately projecting images onto construction surfaces by using distance and rotation angle measurements to correct the image.

Benefits

  • Improved accuracy: The device ensures accurate projection by correcting the image based on distance and rotation angle measurements.
  • Time-saving: The device eliminates the need for manual adjustments and calculations, saving time for construction workers.
  • Enhanced visualization: The corrected image provides clear and precise visual guidance for construction tasks.

Original Abstract Submitted

A projection device according to an aspect of the present invention is a projection device for use at a construction site, and includes: a projector that projects an image onto a projection plane; a distance meter that measures a distance to the projection plane; a rotation driver that rotates the projector and the distance meter; an angle sensor that measures a rotation angle of the rotation driver; and a data processor that corrects the image that is projected from the projector. At least one of the distance meter or the projector is offset from a center line of a rotation axis of the rotation driver. The data processor corrects the image by using the distance measured by the distance meter and the rotation angle measured by the angle sensor.
