VEHICLE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18230922 titled 'VEHICLE

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a vehicle system that includes an in-vehicle device and a communication device capable of wireless communication with a base station. The communication device can switch between modes based on specific reject causes from the base station, and the in-vehicle device can generate diagnosis information if a handshake fails during power-on of the vehicle.

  • In-vehicle device and communication device perform handshake upon vehicle power-on
  • Communication device can switch between modes based on specific reject causes
  • In-vehicle device generates diagnosis information if handshake fails

Potential Applications

The technology described in this patent application could be applied in various industries such as automotive, transportation, and telecommunications for improving communication reliability and diagnosing issues in vehicle systems.

Problems Solved

Original Abstract Submitted

A vehicle includes an in-vehicle device and a communication device. The communication device includes a modem, is connected to the in-vehicle device, and is configured to perform wireless communication with a base station. The in-vehicle device and the communication device are configured to perform a handshake in response to power-on of the vehicle. The in-vehicle device is configured to generate diagnosis information when the handshake fails. The communication device is configured to be switchable between a first mode in which resetting of the modem according to a specific reject cause from the base station is permitted and a second mode in which the resetting of the modem according to the specific reject cause is prohibited.
