CHARGE SUPPORT SYSTEM, CHARGE SUPPORT METHOD, AND CONTROL PROGRAM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18229303 titled 'CHARGE SUPPORT SYSTEM, CHARGE SUPPORT METHOD, AND CONTROL PROGRAM

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a charge support system for vehicles that can detect when a vehicle is parked for a predetermined period or longer, acquire information about the charging of a storage battery, determine if it is necessary to store electricity generated by a solar cell panel in the battery, and notify the driver to connect a charging cable if storing the electricity is not necessary.

  • Detection unit detects when a vehicle is parked for a predetermined period or longer
  • Acquisition unit acquires information about the charging of a storage battery
  • Determination unit decides if storing solar-generated electricity in the battery is necessary
  • Notification unit prompts the driver to connect a charging cable if storing the electricity is not needed

Potential Applications

This technology can be applied in electric vehicles, solar-powered vehicles, and smart charging systems for efficient energy management.

Problems Solved

1. Efficient utilization of solar-generated electricity 2. Preventing unnecessary storage of electricity in the battery

Benefits

1. Optimized charging of storage batteries 2. Increased efficiency in energy management for vehicles

Potential Commercial Applications

Optimized Energy Management Systems for Electric Vehicles

Unanswered Questions

How does the system communicate with the driver to prompt them to connect the charging cable?

The abstract does not provide details on the specific communication method used for the notification unit to prompt the driver.

What types of vehicles can this charge support system be integrated into?

The abstract does not specify if the system is designed for specific types of vehicles or if it can be adapted for various vehicle models.

Original Abstract Submitted

A charge support system including: a detection unit configured to detect that a vehicle is scheduled to be parked for a predetermined period or longer; an acquisition unit configured to acquire information about a charging of a storage battery when the detection unit detects that the vehicle is scheduled to be parked for a predetermined period or longer; a determination unit configured to determine, based on the information acquired by the acquisition unit, whether or not it is necessary to keep storing electricity generated by a solar cell panel in the storage battery; and a notification unit configured to, when the determination unit determines that it is not necessary to keep storing the electricity generated by the solar cell panel in the storage battery, send a notification prompting a driver to connect a charging cable to a storage apparatus outside the vehicle.
