DISPLAY PANEL - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18226396 titled 'DISPLAY PANEL

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a display panel that includes a substrate with a central area and a corner area. The central area contains a pixel circuit and a display element connected to the pixel circuit. The corner area includes a voltage supply line that supplies voltage to one electrode of the display element, and a driving circuit that supplies an electrical signal to the pixel circuit. The driving circuit is spaced apart from the central area with the voltage supply line in between.

  • The display panel includes a substrate with a central area and a corner area.
  • A pixel circuit is located in the central area.
  • A display element is connected to the pixel circuit.
  • A voltage supply line is in the corner area and supplies voltage to one electrode of the display element.
  • A driving circuit is also in the corner area and supplies an electrical signal to the pixel circuit.
  • The driving circuit is separated from the central area by the voltage supply line.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Display panels for electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and televisions.
  • Automotive displays for dashboard and entertainment systems.
  • Public display boards for advertising and information dissemination.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Efficient distribution of voltage and electrical signals in a display panel.
  • Reduction of interference between the driving circuit and the central area.
  • Improved performance and reliability of the display panel.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Enhanced image quality and resolution.
  • Reduced power consumption.
  • Increased durability and lifespan of the display panel.
  • Improved manufacturing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Original Abstract Submitted

A display panel includes a substrate including a central area and a corner area extending from a corner of the central area, a pixel circuit disposed in the central area and a display element connected to the pixel circuit, a voltage supply line which is disposed in the corner area and supplies a voltage to one electrode of the display element, and a driving circuit which is disposed in the corner area and supplies an electrical signal to the pixel circuit. The driving circuit is spaced apart from the central area with the voltage supply line therebetween.
