METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SOUND OUTPUT OF AUDIO REPRODUCING DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE PERFORMING THE SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18219219 titled 'METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SOUND OUTPUT OF AUDIO REPRODUCING DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE PERFORMING THE SAME

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a method for controlling the sound output of an audio reproducing device in a simultaneous listening mode with another device, based on a conversation request from the second device.

  • Detect conversation request from second audio reproducing device
  • Control first audio reproducing device to exit simultaneous listening mode and enter conversation mode
  • Change sound output setting of first audio reproducing device in response to conversation request
  • Output content sound based on changed sound output setting while in conversation mode

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in various scenarios where multiple audio devices are used simultaneously, such as in conference calls, group listening sessions, or shared entertainment experiences.

Problems Solved

This technology solves the problem of seamlessly transitioning between simultaneous listening and conversation modes in a multi-device audio setup, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted user experience.

Benefits

- Enhanced user experience with seamless mode switching - Improved communication and collaboration in group settings - Customizable sound output settings for different modes

Potential Commercial Applications

"Multi-Device Sound Control Technology for Enhanced User Experience"

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art could be the use of manual switches or controls on audio devices to change sound output settings, but the automatic detection and mode switching based on conversation requests from another device is a novel aspect of this technology.

Unanswered Questions

How does the technology differentiate between different types of conversation requests?

The patent application does not specify how the system determines the nature of the conversation request and whether it triggers different responses based on the context.

What is the range of communication connection between the devices for this technology to work effectively?

The patent application does not mention the limitations or requirements for the communication connection between the audio devices for the method to function properly.

Original Abstract Submitted

A method of controlling a sound output of a first audio reproducing device that is operable in a simultaneous listening mode with a second audio reproducing device such that, in the simultaneous listening mode, each of the first audio reproducing device and the second audio reproducing device operate to output content sound based on an audio content signal streamed from a corresponding content providing device through a communication connection, according to their respective sound output settings, the method including detecting a conversation request from the second audio reproducing device; controlling the first audio reproducing device to exit the simultaneous listening mode, enter a conversation mode, and change the sound output setting of the first audio reproducing device, in response to detecting the conversation request; and controlling the first audio reproducing device to output the content sound based on the changed sound output setting while operating in the conversation mode.
