METHOD OF MANUFACTURING DISPLAY DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18218754 titled 'METHOD OF MANUFACTURING DISPLAY DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

The method of manufacturing a display device described in the abstract involves several key steps:

  • Forming a barrier layer on a light emitting element
  • Forming a first organic layer with an opening exposing a portion of the barrier layer and overlapping the light emitting element
  • Creating a first preliminary low-reflection layer covering the first side surface of the first organic layer and an upper surface
  • Generating a second preliminary low-reflection layer covering the second side surface of the first organic layer
  • Forming a low-reflection barrier covering the first and second side surfaces defining the opening by anisotropic dry etching
  • Filling the opening of the first organic layer with a second organic layer

Potential Applications: - This technology can be applied in the manufacturing of high-quality display devices such as OLED screens for smartphones, TVs, and other electronic devices.

Problems Solved: - This method helps to reduce reflection and improve the overall display quality by minimizing unwanted light interference.

Benefits: - Enhanced display performance with reduced reflection - Improved image clarity and brightness - Increased overall display lifespan

Potential Commercial Applications: - Smartphone manufacturing - Television production - Computer monitor development

Possible Prior Art: - Previous methods of display device manufacturing may not have included the specific steps outlined in this patent application, such as the formation of low-reflection layers and barriers.

Unanswered Questions:

      1. How does this method compare to existing display device manufacturing techniques?

This article does not provide a direct comparison to existing manufacturing techniques in the display industry. It would be beneficial to understand the advantages and disadvantages of this new method in relation to traditional approaches.

      1. What are the potential cost implications of implementing this manufacturing process?

The abstract does not mention the cost considerations associated with this new method. It would be important to assess the economic feasibility of adopting this technology for mass production in various industries.

Original Abstract Submitted

A method of manufacturing a display device includes forming a barrier layer on a light emitting element, forming a first organic layer defining an opening exposing a portion of the barrier layer and overlapping the light emitting element on the barrier layer, forming a first preliminary low-reflection layer covering a first side surface of the first organic layer defining the opening and an upper surface of the first organic layer, forming a second preliminary low-reflection layer covering a second side surface of the first organic layer defining the opening and opposite to the first side surface and the upper surface of the first organic layer, forming a low-reflection barrier covering the first and second side surfaces defining the opening by anisotropic dry etching of the first preliminary low-reflection layer and the second preliminary low-reflection layer, and forming a second organic layer filling the opening of the first organic layer.
