MULTI-DOF MOVING STAGE AND DISPLAY APPARATUS USING THE SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18209627 titled 'MULTI-DOF MOVING STAGE AND DISPLAY APPARATUS USING THE SAME
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes a multi-degree of freedom moving stage with a joint structure that includes a flexible member and two rigid members. Castellated patterns are provided at the ends of the rigid members adjacent to the flexible member.
- The patent application is for a multi-degree of freedom moving stage with a unique joint structure.
- The joint structure includes a flexible member and two rigid members.
- The rigid members are arranged apart from each other with a gap that exposes a surface of the flexible member.
- Castellated patterns are provided at the ends of the rigid members adjacent to the flexible member.
- The castellated patterns have complementary shapes to each other.
Potential Applications
- Robotics: The multi-degree of freedom moving stage can be used in robotic systems to provide precise and flexible movements.
- Automation: The stage can be utilized in automated manufacturing processes to perform complex tasks with high accuracy.
- Medical Devices: The technology can be applied in medical devices such as surgical robots to enable precise and controlled movements.
Problems Solved
- Improved Flexibility: The joint structure with a flexible member allows for increased flexibility and range of motion.
- Precision Movements: The castellated patterns provide a secure connection between the rigid members and the flexible member, ensuring precise movements.
- Simplified Design: The joint structure simplifies the overall design of the moving stage, making it more efficient and cost-effective.
Benefits

- Increased Efficiency: The simplified design and secure joint structure contribute to increased efficiency in operation.
- Cost Savings: The simplified design and efficient operation result in cost savings during manufacturing and operation.
Original Abstract Submitted
A multi-degree of freedom (DOF) moving stage includes a plurality of joint portions. At least one of the plurality of joint portions has a joint structure including a first flexible member and first and second rigid members, the first and second rigid members being arranged apart from each other with a first gap therebetween such that the first gap exposes a first surface of the first flexible member. Castellated patterns having shapes complementary to each other are respectively provided at a first end portion of the first rigid member adjacent to the first gap and a second end portion of the second rigid member adjacent to the first gap.
