ROBOT CLEANER AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18209277 titled 'ROBOT CLEANER AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a robot cleaner that has a driving device, obstacle clearing device, memory, and processor. The robot cleaner is able to navigate a cleaning area and clear obstacles using a sensor and the obstacle clearing device.

  • The robot cleaner has a driving device, obstacle clearing device, memory, and processor.
  • It is able to navigate a cleaning area and clear obstacles.
  • The memory stores a map of the cleaning area and obstacle categories.
  • The processor controls the driving device and obstacle clearing device.
  • The obstacle clearing device takes a motion corresponding to the obstacle category detected by a sensor.

Potential Applications

  • Household cleaning: The robot cleaner can be used to clean floors and navigate around obstacles in a home.
  • Commercial cleaning: The robot cleaner can be used in offices, hotels, and other commercial spaces to clean floors and clear obstacles.
  • Industrial cleaning: The robot cleaner can be used in factories and warehouses to clean floors and navigate around obstacles.

Problems Solved

  • Efficient cleaning: The robot cleaner is able to navigate and clean a designated area without getting stuck on obstacles.
  • Time-saving: The robot cleaner can autonomously clear obstacles, saving time and effort for the user.
  • Improved safety: The robot cleaner can detect and avoid obstacles, reducing the risk of accidents or damage.

Benefits

  • Convenience: The robot cleaner can operate autonomously, allowing users to focus on other tasks.
  • Versatility: The robot cleaner can adapt to different obstacle categories, ensuring effective cleaning in various environments.
  • Efficiency: The robot cleaner's ability to clear obstacles and navigate efficiently improves overall cleaning performance.

Original Abstract Submitted

A robot cleaner is disclosed. The robot cleaner includes a driving device, an obstacle clearing device for clearing an obstacle on a driving route, a memory storing a map of a cleaning area and an obstacle category, and a processor controlling the driving device so that the robot cleaner drives in the cleaning area, wherein the processor may, while the robot cleaner is driving in the cleaning area, control the obstacle clearing device to take a motion corresponding to the obstacle category by an obstacle detected by a sensor.
