CONTROL DEVICE, CONTROL METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORYCOMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18201342 titled 'CONTROL DEVICE, CONTROL METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORYCOMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation

The control device described in this patent application consists of an information processing device and a communication device.

  • The information processing device identifies a group of users based on their passenger information. This group consists of users who have a predetermined personal relationship with each other.
  • The communication device then transmits first display information to the information terminal devices carried by the users in the group. This display information indicates the current position of a shared vehicle.
  • If the group includes a user who requires privacy protection, the control device also transmits second display information to an information terminal device carried by a user who is not part of the group. This second display information is processed to protect the privacy of the user requiring protection.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Ride-sharing services: This technology can be used by ride-sharing platforms to provide real-time location information to a group of users who are traveling together in a shared vehicle. It can also ensure that the privacy of certain users is protected by providing processed display information to users outside the group.
  • Family tracking: This technology can be utilized by family tracking apps or devices to share the current location of family members with each other. It can also protect the privacy of certain family members by providing processed display information to individuals outside the family group.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Privacy protection: The technology addresses the need to protect the privacy of certain users who may not want their location information to be shared with everyone. By providing processed display information, the technology ensures that the privacy of these users is maintained.
  • Efficient communication: The technology enables efficient communication between a group of users by providing them with real-time location information. This can be particularly useful in situations where coordination and synchronization are important, such as in ride-sharing or family tracking scenarios.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Enhanced privacy: The technology ensures that the privacy of users requiring protection is safeguarded by providing processed display information to others.
  • Improved coordination: By providing real-time location information to a group of users, the technology facilitates better coordination and synchronization among them.
  • Customized information sharing: The technology allows for customized information sharing based on predetermined personal relationships, ensuring that relevant information is shared with the appropriate individuals.

Original Abstract Submitted

The control device includes an information processing device and a communication device. The information processing device extracts a group of users from the plurality of users based on passenger information of the plurality of users, the group of users being a group of users whose relationship with each other is a predetermined personal relationship, transmits to information terminal devices carried by the users belonging to the group, via the communication device, first display information indicating a current position of the shared vehicle, and transmits, in a case where a protection target user for whom a predetermined privacy protection requirement is satisfied is included in the group, second display information that is processed to protect privacy of the protection target user, to an information terminal device carried by a user not belonging to the group, via the communication device.
