SOUNDING REFERENCE SIGNAL (SRS) ENHANCEMENT FOR MULTI-TRANSMISSION AND RECEPTION POINT (TRP) OPERATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18199453 titled 'SOUNDING REFERENCE SIGNAL (SRS) ENHANCEMENT FOR MULTI-TRANSMISSION AND RECEPTION POINT (TRP) OPERATION

Simplified Explanation

The patent application relates to apparatuses and methods for reducing interferences for Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) in wireless communication systems. This can be achieved through frequency domain interference randomization, code domain interference randomization, or power control.

  • User equipment (UE) can determine a comb offset and/or a cyclic shift for each SRS transmission occasion. These values change between different SRS transmission occasions.
  • The UE then transmits an SRS to the base station using the determined comb offset and/or cyclic shift during the corresponding SRS transmission occasion.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Wireless communication systems: This technology can be applied in various wireless communication systems to reduce interferences for SRS, improving the overall performance and reliability of the system.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Interference reduction: By implementing mechanisms such as frequency domain interference randomization, code domain interference randomization, and power control, this technology helps reduce interferences for SRS signals. This improves the accuracy and reliability of SRS measurements and enhances the overall performance of wireless communication systems.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved signal quality: By reducing interferences for SRS, this technology improves the quality and accuracy of SRS measurements. This leads to better channel estimation and improved system performance.
  • Enhanced system capacity: By mitigating interferences, this technology allows for more efficient use of the available spectrum, increasing the capacity of wireless communication systems.
  • Better user experience: With reduced interferences, users can experience improved signal strength, fewer dropped calls, and better overall connectivity.

Original Abstract Submitted

Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing mechanisms for reducing interferences for Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) by, for example, one or more of frequency domain interference randomization, code domain interference randomization, or power control. For example, a user equipment (UE) can be configured to determine a comb offset and/or a cyclic shift for each Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) transmission occasion for the UE. The comb offset and/or the cyclic shift change between different SRS transmission occasions of the UE. The UE is further configured to transmit an SRS to the base station using the determined comb offset and/or the determined cyclic shift during the SRS transmission occasion corresponding.
