THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITION FOR AIR INTAKE HOSE WITH IMPROVED HEAT RESISTANCE AND MOLDED ARTICLE COMPRISING SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18197845 titled 'THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITION FOR AIR INTAKE HOSE WITH IMPROVED HEAT RESISTANCE AND MOLDED ARTICLE COMPRISING SAME

Simplified Explanation

The thermoplastic resin composition for an air intake hose described in the abstract combines a mixed resin containing a thermoplastic polyether-ester elastomer and polybutylene terephthalate with a styrene-acrylonitrile resin, additives, and other components to improve heat resistance.

  • The thermoplastic resin composition includes a mixed resin with a thermoplastic polyether-ester elastomer and polybutylene terephthalate, a styrene-acrylonitrile resin, an epoxy-based compatibilizer, a chain extender, an antioxidant, a thermal stabilizer (such as an imide-based stabilizer or oxazoline-based stabilizer), a light stabilizer, and a filler.
    • Potential Applications:

- Automotive industry for air intake hoses - Industrial machinery for heat-resistant components

    • Problems Solved:

- Improved heat resistance in air intake hoses - Enhanced durability and performance in high-temperature environments

    • Benefits:

- Increased longevity of air intake hoses - Reduced maintenance and replacement costs - Enhanced overall efficiency and reliability

    • Potential Commercial Applications:

- Automotive manufacturing companies - Industrial machinery suppliers

    • Possible Prior Art:

- Prior art related to thermoplastic resin compositions for automotive or industrial applications - Previous patents on heat-resistant materials for hoses or components

Questions:

1. How does the thermoplastic resin composition compare to traditional materials in terms of heat resistance and durability? 2. Are there any specific performance tests or standards that the resin composition must meet for commercial use?

Original Abstract Submitted

A thermoplastic resin composition for an air intake hose has improved heat resistance by mixing a mixed resin including a thermoplastic polyether-ester elastomer and polybutylene terephthalate, a styrene-acrylonitrile resin, and additives in appropriate amounts, and a molded article including the same. This thermoplastic resin composition includes a mixed resin including a thermoplastic polyether-ester elastomer and polybutylene terephthalate, a styrene-acrylonitrile resin, an epoxy-based compatibilizer, a chain extender, an antioxidant, a thermal stabilizer including at least one selected from the group consisting of an imide-based stabilizer, an oxazoline-based stabilizer, and combinations thereof, a light stabilizer, and a filler.
