VACUUM CLEANER AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18194928 titled 'VACUUM CLEANER AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THEREOF

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a vacuum cleaner that includes a front detection sensor to detect obstacles in its path. The sensor transmits a forward signal and receives a signal reflected from an obstacle, allowing the vacuum cleaner to detect the obstacle. The front detection sensor can transmit two types of forward signals to detect obstacles in different signal areas.

  • The vacuum cleaner includes a main body and a front detection sensor in the suction head.
  • The front detection sensor is positioned to face forward and is connected to the main body via a connection pipe.
  • The front detection sensor transmits a forward signal and receives a signal reflected from an obstacle in the forward signal area.
  • The front detection sensor has a transmission unit that can transmit a first forward signal for detecting obstacles in a first signal area.
  • The front detection sensor can also transmit a second forward signal for detecting obstacles in a second signal area, which is included in the first signal area.
  • The transmission of multiple forward signals helps to diffuse the transmitted signals and improve obstacle detection.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Household vacuum cleaners can benefit from improved obstacle detection, allowing for more efficient cleaning and avoiding collisions with furniture or other objects.
  • Industrial vacuum cleaners used in large spaces or commercial settings can also benefit from this technology to enhance obstacle detection and improve cleaning performance.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • The vacuum cleaner with the front detection sensor solves the problem of blindly moving forward without detecting obstacles, reducing the risk of collisions and damage to the vacuum cleaner or surrounding objects.
  • It addresses the issue of inefficient cleaning caused by obstacles blocking the path of the vacuum cleaner.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved obstacle detection helps to prevent collisions and damage to the vacuum cleaner and surrounding objects.
  • The vacuum cleaner can navigate more efficiently, avoiding obstacles and ensuring thorough cleaning.
  • The diffusing of transmitted forward signals increases the coverage area for obstacle detection, enhancing the overall performance of the vacuum cleaner.

Original Abstract Submitted

A vacuum cleaner is provided. The vacuum cleaner includes a main body and a front detection sensor disposed to face forward in a suction head coupled to one end of a connection pipe extending from the main body, configured to transmit a forward signal, and receive a signal reflected from an obstacle located in a forward signal area by the forward signal, so as to detect the obstacle. The front detection sensor includes a transmission unit configured to transmit a first forward signal for detecting an obstacle located in a first signal area, and a second forward signal for detecting an obstacle located in a second signal area included in the first signal area, thereby diffusing the transmitted forward signals.
