ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING USER PLACE MESSAGE IN FRONTHAUL INTERFACE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18191548 titled 'ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING USER PLACE MESSAGE IN FRONTHAUL INTERFACE

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a method performed by a distributed unit (DU) in a communication system. The method involves transmitting a management message to a radio unit (RU) through a fronthaul interface, indicating a representative extended antenna-carrier (eAxC) port. The DU also transmits a control plane message to the RU through the fronthaul interface, containing section information and section extension information for resource allocation. The section extension information is used to combine multiple user plane (U-plane) messages into one U-plane message in either the DU or the RU. The representative eAxC port is used for transmitting or receiving the combined U-plane message.

  • The method involves transmitting a management message to a radio unit through a fronthaul interface.
  • The management message includes information indicating a representative extended antenna-carrier port.
  • The method also includes transmitting a control plane message to the radio unit through the fronthaul interface.
  • The control plane message contains section information and section extension information for resource allocation.
  • The section extension information is used to combine multiple user plane messages into one user plane message.
  • The combined user plane message is transmitted or received using the representative extended antenna-carrier port.

Potential Applications

  • This method can be applied in communication systems that use distributed units and radio units.
  • It can be used in various wireless communication technologies, such as 5G or beyond.
  • The method enables efficient resource allocation and transmission of user plane messages.

Problems Solved

  • The method solves the problem of managing and allocating resources in a distributed communication system.
  • It addresses the challenge of combining multiple user plane messages into a single message for efficient transmission.
  • The method provides a solution for transmitting and receiving the combined user plane message using a representative extended antenna-carrier port.

Benefits

  • The method simplifies resource allocation by using a control plane message with section information and section extension information.
  • It improves efficiency by combining multiple user plane messages into one message.
  • The use of a representative extended antenna-carrier port enables effective transmission and reception of the combined user plane message.

Original Abstract Submitted

A method performed by a distributed unit (DU) including transmitting a management message including information for indicating a representative extended antenna-carrier (eAxC) port to a radio unit (RU) through a fronthaul interface is provided. The method includes transmitting a control plane message including section information and section extension information for resource allocation to the RU through the fronthaul interface. The section extension information is used to combine a plurality of user plane (U-plane) messages into one U-plane message in the DU or the RU. The representative eAxC port of the fronthaul interface is used for transmitting or receiving of the combined one U-plane message.
