METHOD FOR ACQUIRING BIOMETRIC INFORMATION AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE THEREFOR - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18168916 titled 'METHOD FOR ACQUIRING BIOMETRIC INFORMATION AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE THEREFOR

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes an electronic device that includes two biometric sensors, a processor, and a memory. The device is capable of acquiring pulse wave information and biometric information using the sensors, and processing the acquired data to generate a template corresponding to a pulse wave.

  • The electronic device has two biometric sensors - one for acquiring pulse wave information and the other for acquiring biometric information using a bioelectrical signal.
  • The processor and memory work together to execute instructions and process the acquired data.
  • During the acquisition of pulse wave information, the device also acquires biometric information corresponding to multiple pulse waves.
  • The device then processes the biometric information using peak values of the pulse wave information to generate a template corresponding to one pulse wave.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Health monitoring devices: The electronic device can be used in wearable health monitoring devices to track pulse wave information and biometric data, providing insights into the user's health and well-being.
  • Fitness trackers: The device can be integrated into fitness trackers to measure pulse wave information and biometric data during physical activities, helping users monitor their performance and optimize their workouts.
  • Medical diagnostics: The technology can be utilized in medical diagnostics to analyze pulse wave information and biometric data, aiding in the detection and monitoring of various health conditions.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Accurate biometric data acquisition: The use of two biometric sensors allows for more comprehensive and accurate acquisition of pulse wave information and biometric data, improving the reliability of the measurements.
  • Template generation: The processing of acquired data using peak values of the pulse wave information enables the generation of a template that represents a single pulse wave, facilitating further analysis and interpretation of the data.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Enhanced health monitoring: The device provides a more detailed and comprehensive view of the user's health by combining pulse wave information and biometric data.
  • Improved fitness tracking: Users can track their fitness progress more effectively by analyzing pulse wave information and biometric data during physical activities.
  • Efficient medical diagnostics: The technology enables the analysis of pulse wave information and biometric data, potentially aiding in the early detection and monitoring of various health conditions.

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a first biometric sensor configured to acquire pulse wave information, a second biometric sensor configured to acquire biometric information by using a bioelectrical signal, a processor, and a memory. The memory may store instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to acquire the pulse wave information by using the first biometric sensor, during the acquisition of the pulse wave information, acquire the biometric information corresponding to a plurality of pulse waves by using the second biometric sensor, and acquire a template corresponding to one pulse wave from the biometric information by processing the biometric information by using peak values of the pulse wave information.
