RESOURCE ALLOCATION PATTERNS FOR SCHEDULING SERVICES IN A WIRELESS NETWORK - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18165315 titled 'RESOURCE ALLOCATION PATTERNS FOR SCHEDULING SERVICES IN A WIRELESS NETWORK

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes techniques for determining, selecting, configuring, and indicating resource allocation patterns for scheduling services in a wireless network, such as a 5G network.

  • The method involves determining a resource allocation pattern from a set of configured patterns.
  • Each pattern consists of multiple resource elements, with each element associated with a specific resource allocation restriction.
  • The user equipment (UE) then communicates based on the determined resource allocation pattern.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Reliable low-latency services (e.g., ultra-reliable low latency communications)
  • Other services in a wireless network, particularly in a 5G network

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Efficient resource allocation for scheduling services in a wireless network
  • Ensuring reliable and low-latency communication for critical applications

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved performance and reliability of services in a wireless network
  • Optimal utilization of network resources
  • Enhanced user experience for low-latency applications

Original Abstract Submitted

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for determination, selection, configuration, and/or indication of resource allocation patterns for scheduling services, such as reliable low-latency services (e.g., ultra-reliable low latency communications (URLLC)) and other services in a wireless network, such as new radio (NR) (e.g., a 5G network). A method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method generally includes determining a resource allocation pattern that defines resources, from a plurality of configured resource allocation patterns, wherein at least one of the plurality of configured resource allocation patterns comprises a plurality of resource elements with at least a first resource element associated with a first resource allocation restriction and at least a second resource element associated with a second resource allocation restriction and communicating based on the determined resource allocation pattern.
