ANTENNA ARCHITECTURE FOR MOBILE DEVICES - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18164284 titled 'ANTENNA ARCHITECTURE FOR MOBILE DEVICES

Simplified Explanation

The disclosed system includes a support structure for electronic components, a first antenna for wireless intralink to a local mobile device, and multiple second antennas for wireless interlinks to external networks.

  • Support structure houses electronic components
  • First antenna provides wireless intralink to local mobile device on a first frequency
  • Multiple second antennas establish wireless interlinks to external networks on other frequencies
  • Second antennas positioned at a specified minimum distance from first antenna and at least partially opposing angle to each other
  • Second antennas provide spherical radiation to transmit and receive data using established wireless interlinks

Potential Applications

The technology could be applied in telecommunications, IoT devices, and smart home systems.

Problems Solved

The system solves the problem of establishing wireless interlinks to external networks while maintaining a wireless intralink to a local mobile device.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include efficient data transmission and reception, improved connectivity, and reduced interference.

Potential Commercial Applications

Original Abstract Submitted

The disclosed system may include a support structure that may be configured to house electronic components. The system may also include a first antenna mounted to the support structure. The first antenna may be configured to provide a wireless intralink on a first frequency to a local mobile electronic device. The system may also include multiple second antennas that are configured to established wireless interlinks on other frequencies to various external wireless networks. The second antennas may be positioned a specified minimum distance away from the first antenna and may be positioned at an at least partially opposing angle to each other. As such, the second antennas may provide at least a minimum threshold amount of spherical radiation to transmit and receive data using the established wireless interlinks. Various other apparatuses, methods of manufacturing, and mobile electronic devices are also disclosed.
